Its defeat area is 20 metres in a covered area and 10 metres at an open place. Several indication levels are used in the device. The frame of the device has 6 red diodes. When the grenade is activated, they indicate when it will detonate. Same function is performed by the powerful imitation of piezo signal. LASERWAR play sets have not been left out either. The blaster will inform the player about the cause of virtual death: whether it is the precise infrared impulse of the enemy’s gun, or the unexpected grenade. INSIDE THE GRENADE     The construction of the device ensures its internal components remain undamaged even when hit. The grenade will not let you down at a critical moment and will promptly eliminate enemy stormtroopers. When hit against a wall, the batteries will remain in place too. 2 AAA batteries provide the necessary charge and guarantee up to 14 days of play. We have thought of the batteries too. There are no combat equivalents of the M4 ARIZONA model. The design of this submachine gun has been developed by the Ares company for airsoft drives only. ZB-26 is a hand machine gun developed by a Czech armourer and designer Vaclav Holek. In 1926 it was introduced into service in the army of Czechoslovakia and was exported to 24 countries. Over 120 000 machine guns have been manufactured in Czechoslovakia. The production of ZB-26 has been organized in Australia, Great Britain, Canada, India, Spain and China. ZB-26 and its modifications have been used as hand and heavy machine guns and were mounted on some models of armoured vehicles made in Czechoslovakia.  The prototypes were used in the conflicts and wars of the 1930s - 1950s (the Second World War, Civil wars in China, Spain, Greece) and proved themselves as reliable and simple weapons. The New game button will bring the hits count back to zero, the Kill the player button allows to enter Admin mode. When it is being set up the device does not respond to weapon shots, while on the screen at the bottom there is a contracted value of the chosen parameter.  The small button on the remote is used to switch between the parameters in the admin mode. The big button changes the value.  The device goes back to the standard mode 3 seconds after the user has stopped setting it up. If nobody has hit the target and hasn’t changed the parameters for 5 seconds it will switch off. LASERWAR own products are normally perceived by readers as the release of another play model with standard characteristics: weight, length, firing range. The final product version has a finished look, is thought out and looks attractive. Frequently the impeccable look is the result of several years of painstaking work. Why is new weapon construction a difficult job? Is it sufficient to just choose a suitable real weapon model, duplicate it and afterwards bask in the sun? Actually, it is a lot more complicated. Just before the announcement of the new PHOENIX play set, which is going to happen this week, we are going to describe the important details and the new introduced construction features. THE BACKGROUND The target market of rental clubs are children, teenagers and adults. While the latter can use any weapons, irrespective of their weight and size dimensions, it is different when it comes to kids. The ideal play set for kids must be light, strong, be compact in size and match the settings. The organizers used to have 2 models to choose from: AK-12 PREDATOR and ERASER. АК-12 is a universal model used both by children and adults. Yet for very young children the model was too long, which used to create problems during the game. That is why the look of the ERASERS handed to children at rental clubs leaved much to be desired. Who may want to use ERASER when there is a comfortable and attractive AK-12 PREDATOR? We have been searching for a way to combine the ideal technical characteristics with masculine design. We wanted it to be comfortable, light and ergonomic, strong enough to withstand a few hundred games. The original MP-7 and MP-9 were noted to be compact, easy to manipulate in cramped conditions, and possessed manly looks. We did a few test models and realized that this construction suited us well, although it required some important enhancements. Afterwards, we kept improving the construction of the blaster by altering the design of its details, we tested them during the game, we tested how convenient it was and noted all the shortcomings. The development stretched out over several years, the product release kept being delayed. What have we been working so hard at? Here are the most important features. SHOULDER STOCK MP-7 and MP-9 submachine guns are equipped with foldable telescoping stocks. The stock is an important part of the construction, for it not only makes aiming more convenient, it also makes overcoming of recoil comfortable. Yet there is no recoil in laser tag, so the weapon does not jolt in players’ hands, which means that the stock looses its main function and is not used as originally intended. That is why we omitted this feature. If one shoots with one’s arm stretched, when one turns the blaster the extended stock feels bulky. We have produced about 10 test 3D-models, tested them and developed a detail that has the right height – it doesn’t scratch one’s hand and goes well with the design of the laser tag blaster. When it comes to laser tag model development comfort is above all. The stock was used to place the charger inlet. Normally, big charger inlets are used in LASERWAR sets. They look awkward on small models and attract too much unwanted attention. For the PHOENIX model we used smaller inlets that had been developed in Germany. The small size of the inlets make them less noticeable, also they don’t rust, which will be appreciated by the directors of rental clubs. THE GUN GRIP SOBR fighters took part in PHOENIX gun grip creation. We took into consideration the opinion of people who deal with weapons on a daily basis and are aware of every single detail. The gun grip is its essential part. 70% of the opinion about what working with a submachine gun is like depends on how convenient the grip is. It should be as comfortable as it can possibly be. It should not chafe and it must fit any hand size. The final version must feel like CHESTNUT grip, which ensures comfort during a prolonged game. The strict and plain looks were enhanced by the addition of corrugated details imitating real-life models, by sleek design created with hand anatomy and grip specifics in mind. In military submachine guns the grip is used for the gun magazine. The gun was made in such a way that a part of the magazine is visible. While this is acceptable for real weapons, in laser tag this part seems to be excessive. Though if we remove it, the grip feels unfinished and cropped. That is why we left this part unchanged. The ready final version of PHOENIX can boast a wide and comfortable grip. OLED-DISPLAY It is really hard to find where to fit displays on laser tag models. It is essential to select the right place, so that the game details are displayed, yet don’t destruct the player from the battle. Laser tag fighters love OLED-displays for not gleaming in the sun, good contrast and precision levels, and for the comfortable game at any time. The construction was based on the development of AK-12. In the final version the display is ideally located: it is level with the frame, thus increasing its reliability, its light does not blaze into the player’s eyes, the game details are clearly displayed, so the player can just skim over them. RELOAD BUTTON As to recharging laser tag weapons, it must be swift. The player must not waste his precious time on an additional magazine, that is why it is important to decide on how this is going to be performed: using a bolt or a button? In plastic models the first option is technically hard to achieve. You will require a separate mold for this, while the final cost of the product will increase significantly. Reload button was the obvious choice. We located it on the left side of the frame, so as the player could easily reach it. It will be easy to reach even if a tactical torch is attached to the Picatinny bar. Reloading the magazine will not take a lot of time: one can refill the charge using one’s left hand, and while holding the tactical handle keep an eye on the events on the battlefield. The choice of place for the button excludes the risk to press it occasionally. The process of reloading has been changed too: the button has been made less responsive. If you have played with blasters with the old button, you are sure to notice the difference. THE SPEAKER Flawless sound may be achieved by using a good quality speaker and a big sound hole. In PHOENIX we implemented a compact 50 mm speaker instead of the standard 57 mm one. This could have affected the sound, still its range and intensity remained the same. Moreover, we achieved louder and better quality sound than in PREDATOR. The speaker was placed on the right hand side of the frame, so that reload, wound and death special effects would not stun the player. The shape of the speaker lattice caused a lot of controversy. We did our best to make it look authentic by testing various options. The look of the final choice, different from the first models, signifies the swiftness and martial spirit of PHOENIX. Besides, lattice design matches well the look of the false barrel. Now we are going to describe it in further detail. THE FALSE BARREL The false barrel has always caused doubts among sceptics: “Will it withstand the next game?” Using AK-12 for games proved that such instances were exceptionally rare. After the last year improvement to the mold, there have been no such instances any more. Now, we have implemented all the construction add-ons. The walls of the PHOENIX barrel are thicker, while it is shorter as compared to the PREDATOR; the added ribs make it tougher, and guarantee reliability, which is essential for rental equipment. Club equipment is used all year round. Parts of play sets may get dirty, or snow may get into holes. To make cleaning the equipment easier, we added some openings in the “nose” of the gun. Close attention to every detail is what the players will get in the final version of the model. PICATINNY BARS AND THE TACTICAL GRIP One of the distinctive features of the submachine gun are the Picatinny bars. The play set may be personalized to suit the player’s preferences: collimator sights, grips, tactical torches. If you look at the bars, you will see they are the exact copy of the original. This is what the owners of ERASERS craved for. Customization is the PHOENIX strong point. Side bars are removable, which reduces the final cost of the model and ensures that it can be repaired. A charger inlet and a switch lock are at the side of the device. At the front of the device, you will find a red button, a seven-segment indicator, 4 infrared LEDs and 1 infrared sensor. The print on the sticker is of high quality, so it cannot be wiped out. The Crater will withstand any strain. When designing the sticker, we used clean lines, clear indication and we highlighted the main elements. The final result has an excellent look. Even a child will manage to set up and neutralize a Crater. FUNCTIONS The functions are clear and simple. To activate the bomb, turn the key. Push and hold the red button for 3 seconds. Upon this, the Fire message will appear on the screen. This means that the device requests confirmation that the player that has laid the bomb is alive. To activate the countdown to explosion, the laser tag player must fire a shot to the device. To demine the bomb, follow the same steps. Push and hold the button, now for a 5 second time interval, and confirm that you have not been killed by shooting the bomb. After you have done this, the bomb will be neutralized. Should the player get killed during the process of deactivation, the countdown will continue. We aimed to make the scenarios that involve using a bomb as clear and honest as they can be. All game actions in laser tag are processed by the electronics, which is another asset of laser tag. No confrontation about who has been hit by whom, or whether a player was alive or not. The Crater is yet another device that conforms with this principle. SETTING UP To switch to the configuration mode, push the button and turn on the device. You can select the time left till explosion by means of the button. You can choose any value between 1 and 99 minutes. Having made the selection, the player needs not confirm it -  the device will save the settings in 10 seconds. Launch a new game by using any LASERWAR remote or just by turning off the device and then turning it on again. The settings of bomb time, demining and confirmation by shooting can be changed by means of a LASERWAR configurator. The new explosive LASERWAR device is already being used in all Russian clubs. The grenade is popular for a number of reasons: low cost, easy batteries replacement, wide-angle infrared diodes – the device will rescue any laser tag player during a critical situation. There are yet more advantages. We have used a different material to mold the body of the new version. We have also introduced a configuration mode. The changes made to the device have been named Trinity. Here is more about how the updates affected the guarantee, cost and comfort characteristics. BODY Since December 2016, we have been using a new polymer material to mold the body. The numerous crash tests prove that now the body of the grenade is very hard to crack – it will withstand dozens of games when used appropriately. The samples have been smashed against concrete walls, have been tested at abandoned building sites, and in various weather conditions. The grenades with the upgraded internal structure have been for sale since 20th of March. The improved battery compartment guarantees reliable contact. We do not simply make an unfounded claim about the excellent characteristics – we believe that actions prove words. We have increased the guarantee period for the new grenade body by two times. We know just how equipment can wear out, so we are eager to help laser tag club owners minimize their spending on equipment servicing and repair. FUNCTIONS The Trinity has configuration mode. In any modern laser tag equipment, quick functions change must be enabled so as to suit a particular type of game. The case when equipment can be quickly programmed and does not require any additional devices is ideal. Among such additional devices, we could name a PC, a laptop or a smart phone. To set up the grenade, follow these 5 simple steps: To enter the configuration mode, press the safety lever and hold it that way for 60 seconds. A sound signal will be produced and you will enter the time setting mode. As you hold the safety lever, select the time after which the grenade can be used for a second time. 1 LED flash – the grenade can be used right away 2 LED flashes – in 5 seconds 3 LED flashes – in 60 seconds 4 LED flashes – in 300 seconds 5 LED flashes – in 600 seconds       3. Press and hold the safety lever to enter the command setting mode.       4. Press the safety lever to select the required infrared command. 1 sound signal – kill the player command. Compatible with the equipment by other producers. 2 sound signals – blow up a player command. When in this mode, the player’s blaster will produce a special signal when the player gets killed by a grenade. 3 sound signals – knock out a player command. The blasters affected by a grenade will be disabled for a 10 second time interval. Compatible with the equipment by other producers.       5. Press and hold the safety lever to confirm the selection. The M4-177 is a well-known air rifle. The model is notable for its precision, and the possibility to choose between balls and pellets for shooting. Yet the pneumatic version has a weak point. The uncomfortable reloading mechanism cancels out all the advantages of the rifle. Fortunately, the laser tag model is void of this flaw. The M4 KANZAS play set has preserved the comfort characteristics of the M range rifles. It has also been fitted with an authentic silencer. Now, here is more about the advantages of the play set. OVERALL IMPRESSION The blaster is comfortable.
